The Mom & Baby Group

The East Bay’s newest postpartum group.

Support. Education. Community.

Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her.
It unravels and rebuilds her.
It cracks her open, takes her to her edges.
It’s both beautiful and brutal; often at the same time.

-Nikki McCahon

Testimonials

"With a warm and welcoming personality, Lauren invited us mamas in with so much compassion and appreciation for where we are at in our journey. Full of helpful information and creating room to share our own experiences, Lauren created a space postpartum that I think most mother's crave answering questions about what the heck do I do and helpful suggestions for what to avoid. It was such a special experience and I can't wait to participate in what she offers next!" -Sam

“Lauren is incredibly caring and creates a space where you can truly be yourself, vulnerabilities and all. What sets her apart is her genuine concern for both you and your baby's well-being, something that's unfortunately rare in post-partum spaces where the focus tends to be solely on the baby. One of the things I appreciated most was the dedicated time and space each week to practice getting out of the house solo with my baby - something that is extremely daunting as a new mom. This was invaluable for building confidence that I could do things with my baby out in the world after spending so much time at home in our newborn cocoon. Lauren encouraged us to show up exactly as we were, whether that was put together, a hot mess, or emotionally drained, and she held space for us without judgment. It was a safe haven for me during my maternity leave and I'm so grateful for the support I found in her class.” -Kathryn

I want to start off by saying that I was a little nervous to sign up for this mom's group but I am SOO happy that I did. I would 100% sign up again without any hesitation. Every week, I looked forward to going and this group helped my confidence as a new mother in so many ways. Lauren is such a wealth of knowledge and information while also being a welcoming and calm presence. I felt very comfortable sharing my thoughts/questions/concerns from day one. I will be recommending this group to all my friends who are new moms! -Hayley

"Highly recommend this mothers support group! Lauren was compassionate, knowledgeable, accommodating, and welcoming. A very needed space to learn, receive support, and practice being in a social space where other mothers "get it". The experience was invaluable. Thank you for providing this group for us!" -Paula

“As a first time mom, I was looking for a mom and baby group to connect with other moms, and Lauren’s group exceeded my expectations! I looked forward to the time with Lauren and the other moms and babies each week. The topics were always useful and I learned so much from participating. It was a great no judgment, no shame zone. If you’re considering joining Lauren’s mom and baby circle, don’t hesitate! You won’t be disappointed.” -Dawn

“Lauren is a helpful, kind, gracious and understanding. She has a lot of experience and knowledge to share and is non judgmental. Glad I was able to be a part of her class!” -Lauren

“The new mom's group lead by Lauren was fantastic and invaluable! It helped me learn how to navigate early postpartum, and I looked forward to our groups every week! Lauren is not only a wealth of well-researched information and local resources, she is so kind in reaching out to us, and ensuring that us mamas are supported. She anticipates our needs before we know what they are! She helps us feel seen and heard. Her background in Occupational Therapy, Holistic Sleep Coaching, and motherhood shows how well-experienced and empathetic she is. In a world where there is an abundance of parenting information that can be overwhelming, Lauren presents holistic up-to-date and helpful information and reassures us that we are doing great! Thank you so much!” -Jamie

Hi, I’m Lauren!

It's nice to meet you! I'm  a wife and mom to 2 girls (6 & 8) and I've lived in the Walnut Creek area for 20 years.

I've worked as an Occupational Therapist (OT) for 12 years and after leaving work to be home with my girls a few years ago, I earned a certification as a Baby Led Sleep & Wellbeing Specialist and have supported families as a Holistic Sleep Coach for the past 3 years. My passion for supporting families, specifically mothers, has grown tremendously and I've recently expanded my work to include facilitating mom & baby groups and supporting mothers through coaching.

I've always wanted to be a mother, and after the birth of my first daughter, I had so many questions-- was I doing everything right, is she sleeping ok, is something wrong with her, why does my body feel like this?? But no one was talking about these things and I didn't know who to go to. The mom & baby group I was part of was so big, with such watered down information that it didn't feel helpful. I felt so alone.

After talking with and listening to so many mothers, I realized I wasn't the only one. So, I combined my knowledge, expertise and experience as an OT and sleep coach to create this mom & baby group; basically the group I wish I had. I’ve been running this group and supporting mothers for the last year, and it’s one of my favorite ways to work with new mothers.

It's no secret that mothers need more support, and I'm honored and thrilled to step into that space.
